The meeting provides the most up-to-date environment to learn of the remarkable advances in cell and molecular biology revealed by ever more innovative and powerful mass spectrometric technologies.
Program speakers have pioneered these major contributions to both methodology development and the challenging problems currently faced in cell biology and medicine. Discussions of methodological advances will be juxtaposed with presentations from biological perspectives that describe the role they play in addressing challenging problems and opportunities in protein biology and proteomics. These themes focus attention on the articulation of urgent needs and unsolved problems, as well as on many major successes in deciphering global composition, dynamics and function in virtually all areas of biological research.
The use of traditional techniques are reductionist and mostly insufficient to crack problems for biological system in meaningful way. However, the use of systems biology based holistic and integrative approaches allows us to better figure out the whole process. Both qualitative and quantitative information about diseases, toxicities, therapies and so on can be extracted. The systems biology based Omics technologies bring the valuable tools for comprehensive analyses. The powerful mass- spectrometry based methods, global antibody methods, chemical biology approaches and genetics/genomics approaches and their combinations are most common toolbox to study the integrated geno-proteome in numerous different dimensions. The automated DNA sequencers enabled the sequencing of genomes; microarray and along with mass spectrometry analysis permit global transcriptional profiling and lead to large-scale proteomic and metabolomics analysis. In this regards, the sophisticated Omics methods have advanced tremendously in just the last few years.
Given this background and the recent completion of in depth proteomes, it is now time to apply proteomics in a more translational context to patient derived primary cells, organoids, xenograft models and indeed to the clinic. MS based proteomics, in particular, interaction proteomics in combination with chemical and structural proteomics, is making crucial contributions to drug development and deeper molecular understanding of disease mechanisms. The analysis of post-translational modifications has become orders of magnitude more comprehensive, quantitative and accessible, now enabling in-vivo and time-resolved studied of a large range of signaling processes. In combination with genome engineering, this opens up entirely new perspectives in precision investigation of deregulated signaling processes in models of oncology, immunology or metabolic diseases. Finally, proteomic profiling of body fluids has matured to a degree that it enables informative ‘phenotyping’ of humans in health and disease, supporting ‘wellness’ and patient stratification/biomarker studies.
Keeping this concept in consideration, this International gathering endeavor to bring National and International researcher’s together under one roof to exchange scientific ideas and foster future collaborations. This meeting will be attended by distinguished speakers from India and abroad. The themes of this conference include Omics Technologies for One health and productivity, Clinical and Disease proteomics in human, animal and plant, Proteomics, PTMs and Big data analysis, Proteogenomics, Metabolomics, Integrative omics and systems biology, Biomarker discovery, Structural proteomics, Drug targes, and entrepreneurship, Proteomics and Mass Spectrometry applications in Food safety and Allergy, and Translational omics and Entrepreneurship. The PSI-2019 meeting will also organize other academic programs including education day, pre- conference workshops, poster sessions and other opportunities for interacting with distinguished scientists. This event will provide an opportunity to diverse researchers from the proteomics field to network with global proteomics leaders and explore the area of proteomics and its tremendous potentials.
